About us
The Friends of Lesnes Abbey & Woods was established in 2021. A voluntary group, funded by its membership, grants, donations and fund-raising activities.
Our aim is to help promote, protect and preserve the historically and scientifically important woods and abbey ruins at Lesnes Abbey Woods. By keeping them well looked after we want to ensure that they remain a relaxing, beautiful and interesting place for people to enjoy and explore.
We encourage people to become more connected to the park through volunteering with activities such litter-picking, gardening, conservation and even green woodworking. We also promote the park through publications, guided walks, talks and events.
Who's who
As a friends society we have a small committee that look after the organisation in their spare time. We also have many members who regularly contribute to what we do including running our activities.
